Kids Pizza Party

We are holding a Pizza Party this Friday (27th May) at 4pm for the kids to give them another chance to look at the park plans and ask questions or just find out what's going on with the project.

Meet in the park at 4pm and if the weather is not playing ball, we'll move to a nearby house!

Please RSVP at the project email address (on the yellow flyer you received last weekend) and we hope to see you there!!

Click and help us to win!

GREAT NEWS!! We have been shortlisted for The Keg Thanks a Million funding competition. This means that a $25,000 grant can be ours, IF we get enough votes.
From Monday May 16th, you can vote (every day) for our project via the website:
www.kegsteakhouse.com and search for "Train Park Rejuvenation Project". Please vote every day and pass this message on so that all your friends can help us too!!

There is a link at the bottom of the main page labelled "Vote for a project" - click on that and it should take you to the main projects page - type "Train Park" in the search box and our project should come up.

The process requires you to register your email address, confirm via email, and then your vote is counted. Once you are registered, you can log in each day to vote again.

I know a few people have had problems not receiving the confirmation emails while registering - PLEASE use the email help link on the Keg website to chase up if you have the same problem. There are also some reports of certain web browsers not showing the search boxes to allow you to find the project to vote! PLEASE keep trying on other computers - whatever you can to register your vote!!

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Lets get started on the fundraising!!

We have our first fundraising event! We will start with a BOTTLE DRIVE on Saturday June 11th, so please start saving your bottles for collection that morning.
We'll need volunteers to help collect, so this could be time to get the kids involved and if you have a truck available, it would make transporting the bottles to the depot much easier. If you can help us out, please contact us via the email address on the orange flyer.

Oh - and a "heads up" for a grant application that we submitted recently - if we get through to the next round, we will need your help to VOTE to get the funding. PLEASE check back here next Monday to see how we got on and for further details!

A Great Start!!

A big thank you to everyone who came out to the community meeting, asked questions, volunteered or sent messages. We are thrilled with the level of interest and enthusiasm. We still need your input for funding ideas at ground level and from your corporate contacts, so please let us know your ideas.

We hope to be adding the pictures of the play park proposals here soon.

Thanks and watch this space!

Record of the state of the Park at the start of the project

This post aims to show the state of the play park at the beginning of the project and give us something to look back on at the end with satisfaction on the progress we have made!!

The Train - which is now no longer in the park!

Drainage issues under the swing set.

Leaning station structures.

Muddy puddles under the swing set.

The small "wobbler" train, which doesn't wobble any more.

Hopefully this will give us some incentive to get some new play structures in our Train park!

Don't forget the community meeting in the park this Wednesday (May 4th) evening at 7pm - come along and see the initial ideas for the areas and find out how you can help. See you there!
